Make The Perfect Ads With This Simple Advertising Tool

Every ad, no matter how good, can always be better.

There’s a million different reasons as to why they aren't perfect. Sometimes, they may just reach the end of their shelf life.

But if we’ve found something that works we don’t have to throw away our work and start from a blank canvas.

This is where A/B split testing comes in.

It’s your golden tool in your advertising toolbox to make sure your ads are as good as they can possibly be.

If you want to learn how to use A/B split testing to make ads that skyrocket your sales then keep reading this article.

What Is A/B Split Testing?

In essence, it’s getting two different versions of something and running them at the same time to see which one performs better.

For example, you could get an already existing ad, change one element such as the headline, and then run this B version simultaneously.

50% of your audience will see Ad A, while the other 50% will see Ad B.

After a little while you can check in on the data and see which one is performing better.

Particularly, which one is getting you more sales!

If it does then that’s great, you’re one step closer to the perfect ad.

If it doesn’t, that’s also fine because we have now ticked that potential headline off the list and can move on to testing the next element.

When Should I Use Split Testing?

A/B split testing is extremely versatile, you can test just about anything.

A simple example is ads on Meta but you could also use it to test different website landing pages, different videos or reels, audiences, virtually anything you want.

You can begin testing as soon as you’ve got some solid data from your initial ad.

That length will be dependent on your ad budget but let’s say you put it up for two weeks, after that start changing one element at a time and you’ll keep finding areas for improvement.

What Should I Watch Out For?

As always, there’s certain things you need to consider when you’re implementing A/B split testing.

We want to make sure our results are actually valid.

So don’t run an ad for a day and then start split testing nor should you start an A/B split test and the next day take the data for granted.

We want data that is statistically significant.

Another important step is to ensure that you have your goals noted down beforehand so that you know what data is relevant for you.

In my space it’s all about getting more sales.

That’s usually important data such as conversions, opt-ins, and click through rate.

If your goal is to get more views or followers that’s also fine just make sure that you know your goals so you take a sniper like approach.

We don’t want to take a shotgun approach as it will dilute the effectiveness of your test and the results you get.
